Communications Workers of America District 4 Administrative Director Frank Mathews joined the AWF Union Podcast today to discuss the PRO Act and other worker-friendly legislation. He also announced winners of the union’s Red Boxing Glove award.
The Labor Citizen Editor Tom Germuska, Jr. was also featured on today’s episode of the AWF Union Podcast. He previewed stories in the September edition including the possibility of vaccine mandates, a deal to renovate Progressive Field and extend the Cleveland Indians lease and the relationship between the biopharmaceutical industry and union construction trades.

IBEW Local 2322 Business Manager and Financial Secretary Eric Hetrick joined the AWF Union Podcast today to discuss negotiating the first contract for the Comcast bargaining unit in Massachusetts and the difficult journey they had to take to get the contract.
Also featured on today’s episode of the AWF Union Podcast was Truckers Movement for Justice Chief Organizer Billy Randel. He discussed the amount of hours truckers work compared to the amount of hours for which they get paid. He explained how the issues are caused by a largely unorganized trucking industry.

On the eve of the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 94 Business Agent and President Thomas Hart joined the AWF Union Podcast to recount his experiences from that day. He recalled the rescue efforts, as he used his engineering expertise to aid in the search for survivors, including four union Brothers.
National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association President Michael Johnson also joined today’s show to discuss infrastructure. While the $1 trillion infrastructure plan is a great investment and a step in the right direction, Johnson concluded it is simply a down payment.
Finally, Joyce Goldstein, a Labor and Employee Benefits Lawyer and founder of the firm Joyce Goldstein & Associates joined the show. She spoke about the possibility of a new union election at an Amazon facility in Bessemer, Ala.

On today’s edition of the AWF Union Podcast, we remember the 20-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and honor those who lost their lives that day. New York City District Council of Carpenters President Paul Capurso spoke publicly for the first time about what he experienced on Sept. 11, 2001.
Also featured on today’s episode was United Auto Workers Legislative Director Josh Nassar. He discussed the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill and how it would help the middle class and create jobs. He also touched on the need to invest in the electric vehicle market.
